 The Writer's Bill Of Rights

This campaign is dedicated to Writers of all genres on the planet Earth. Doesn't matter if you're a Poet, Novelist, Screenwriter, Journalist, Government legislator, Technical writer, small or midsize Publisher or independent Editor. Whatever you write, you have the freedom to write it. In addition, you have the freedom to speak out against the Publishing and Media monopolies that are intent in squashing fresh talent and ideas. Below are your Writer's Bill Of Rights.

1.) Recognition

The literary establishments of the world shall recognize a literary artist when they have established a copyright on their first draft work. To be published no longer is a valid argument that a person is a Writer. This is since the publishing (and) or media monopolies of the world have locked out most Writers with barriers to prevent them from getting their works finished, and to market. All Publishers and Writers who carry The Literary Black Ribbon must subscribe to this article before any other.

2.) Freedom of Expression.

The Writer shall have the freedom of speech, including the right to speak out about writing and other literary scams of interest to writers. The Writer shall have the freedom to speak out to other writers to notify them of wrong doings by such companies or individuals.

3.) Material Rights

The Writer shall under Copyright have full rights to such material reverting back to the ORIGINAL AUTHOR, after agreed upon time as contractually set.

4.) Plagiarism

No Writer shall have the right to plagiarize another's work. This does not include journalistic practices to quote from original literary works, as defined by U.S. Copyright "Fair Use" law.

5.) Edited Materials

The Writer shall, working with their Publisher/Producer determine the content to be edited.

6.) Subsidiary Rights

The Writer as a Leasee of their original literary materials shall have the right to all other properties, and will retain the option to sign a deal to split those rights and subsequent profits with the publishers or media producers at the Writers option.

7.) Slandering of other Writers and their works.

No Writer subscribing to this endocrine of world Writers shall slander in any way, that of other Writers or artists works. There are several exceptions to this, though. This shall not cover a review done by a journalistic presence or their employee or a literary reviewer who is a paid member of a publicly recognized organization, that is to comment on artistic work, nor shall a journalist be barred from the freedom to print news materials on other authors and or their work, that has been made available upon open markets, nor Writers seeking public recognition of such literary works.

8.) Content Quality

All Writers shall strive their best to finish their work to their best of abilities. If their work is as deemed unfinished, then it should be noted that the draft is a 'works in progress'. If the work is in it's most complete form, it should then be noted as a 'final draft works', upon which of either edition shall be delivered as agreed to by the editor or producer of such media's.

9.) Guilds and Domains

The Guilds and Writers clubs subscribing to this campaign will accept all copyrighted Writers into their establishments, irregardless of their Publishing status. The Literary Author shall be recognized by such clubs who charter to the Black Literary Ribbon.

10.) Agents

No Writer shall ever be required to pay any agent a fee. The Writer has the right to representation based on fairness between them and the agency representing them. All agents whom carry the Black Literary Ribbon shall subscribe to this rule of fairness. Agents or Writers Literary Representatives who do not, while carrying this ribbon shall be excommunicated from the Literary fields of the campaign.

11.) Script Doctors

No Writer shall be forced to provide their works to a book or scrip-doctor.

The Black Literary Ribbon is considered to be an ongoing and changing process. It is intended to represent the input from Writers and Writers issues and therefore is being hosted by The Sebar Literary Site, until the document can me moved to a separate site, which will remove any conflicts of interest between the Sebar literary site and it's representation, in hopes it will become a haven for all Writers the world over. This indoctrine is intended to serve as a global recognition of Writers' rights and not the laws in other countries, nor those of the United States of America. But they are laws that lay down a basic understanding and respect and for those that carry the Black Literary Ribbon, a trust.
